Hey there! I'm pretty transparent about my personal life on instagram. But, maybe you're here to find out the nitty-gritty of my professional life? I can give you that, too!
I attended University of Missouri to study photojournalism. It turns out a career as a staff photojournalist wasn't really a reliable future in 2010. My education gave me the foundation to tell stories with pictures, to be more fearless in asking people for their picture, and to be confident in calling myself an artist and photographer.
A lucky break landed me a photography position with a restaurant group and I spent six years photographing chefs, food and very fun parties. The job sent me all over Chicago, exposed me to new cuisines and taught me everything I know about how to make a beautiful picture in the worst environments. I earned a reputation for being easy to work with, creative and very quick at turning around gorgeous photos.
My career took a sharp turn when my husband died suddenly, forcing me to reevaluate each and every piece of my life. I turned to social media to grieve, to share our stories and continue to make pictures.
Currently, I share a photo studio with creative and supportive women, and photograph projects that fall somewhere in the categories of personal, editorial or commercial.
